Always great to see a new CK! 😀

Speaking of which, CK without his hood/cowl/mask thing on . . . shrouded in mystery shadows!

And c’mon, Nin Wah, you gotta admit this is thinking outside the box. Way outside the box. CK tends to be good at that, at least. I think it’s his only real talent.

  5. ryusui

This is thinking so far outside the box the box hasn’t even properly spawned yet, and if you use a hack to look more closely at it before you’re supposed to be able to, it’s doing a silly placeholder animation.

Anyone else remember when “living things and robots can’t interface” was a big deal? Because I remember when “living things and robots can’t interface” was a big deal. XD

the issue was that the homonculous body couldn’t interface with Zenith because she didn’t think to include a proper I/O device. I guess she fixed that this time around

Guess that one person who predicted this, predicted correctly.

  7. James Stevens

I don’t think it’s that living things and robots can’t interface (see Nin Wah’s new arm for one example), it’s just that they can’t make children together.

Why would CK’s head mess up Nin Wah’s jacket? Wait, never mind!

The sad thing is, pathetic individuals such as yourself harbor incredibly intense self-hatred, and usually kill themselves eventually, after realizing hurting others does not make the pain go away.

Feel free to delete this post too, Scotty.

hope you’re well Scotty… really wanted to ask about a timeline on any more updates…. I check DAILY but have been disappointed every time 🙁

It’s tough for me too, bud. Really a Catch-22 type of thing. I can’t do CK steadily unless it pays the bills, and it’s not gonna attract enough sponsors unless I do it steadily.

          • tonyringtail

very understandable… but sad for fans… hope all is well otherwise.

Any word on when you might have time for the comic? Hopefully the job is still going well.

Can s’one recall who actually predicted this? I don’t really have the fortitude to go back ant stroll trough nostalgia/comments under each comic. Alas Scotty, have you though about half novel format? You could do Splash pages with text, or alternate frames between action, and movements. Erfworld is a good example. Also, you tend to overcomplicate BG. It’s really something to watch out for, unless you have to picture each and every cable perfectly like in your head for plot reasons.

Almost a year… Y’know, I may have an idea. If you need capital, but could spare some ad money, why not start a Kickstarter and put some ads up? I read webcomics all the time, and most of the ones I know speak highly of YOUR comic! Maybe get some good adspace on FurAffinity, they’re a good lot. I’D sure as all get-out donate! (Try to get the banner below the searchbar!)
I love your comic and I sure do hope it comes back soon! I’d like to read another 4637 pages, at absolute LEAST, so good luck!

    Oh my gosh…
I started reading this a few days ago, but just realized that what took you 5 years to create took me about a week to read, including large breaks. I also just figured out it’s been over a year since you’ve written comics. Now, I’m a young kid, but I understand that life… just happens. I get that this doesn’t really pay the bills, or help with life, but I know you’re working on a pretty new kids’ show, and that’s up and running. That pays the bills. But just a little fan here, asking one relatively small question for this big reply:
Can you please do comics again?
I completely understand if you don’t want to do these comics, but a lot of people want you to fund this. While I wish I could fund this in any way I can, I can’t exactly give you the funds to keep this going, to keep the money flowing in. But what I can give you is support from the sidelines, moral support, the like. Just please: heed my, and many other fans’, call. Start this comic again. Many won’t know it’s back and running, but they will know after a while. Who knows: you could turn this into a daily running comic, and make lots of money. But the way to finish this path is to start this comic again.

I know, this is a lot to read through, and is probably very crummy, and I’m sorry for that, as I’m not really a junior high student, but thank you for your time.

    ~Brett

Hello there. Ah yes, the only problem with reading un-syndicated webcomics is that blasted thing that is life and all it’s rampant requirements which often can run roughshod over your favorite authors’ time and will to put the effort in to put out their fine creations. When will there be new comics? only Scotty can tell, and even he can’t know for sure where the future will take him.

As for making money on a web comic, you need only do a few google searches to realize that there are hundreds if not thousands of other non-commercial web comic projects out there and only a very few actually make any real profits, and the ones that do, most often don’t make enough to support someone in daily life. It’s just not as easy and putting out content every day, it has to be thought up, roughed out, drawn out, edited, fixed, colored, and uploaded. As for money, advertising on the web really does not pay very much per view, as such it takes audiences of immense size to rack up any real significant funds.

Meanwhile only a small portion of people who read comics are likely to be both willing and able to pay into optional financial support systems like Patreon, and often those reader’s pot of money for such things will typically be very heavily divided up by several comics etc that they like to follow, so again, to make something significant enough requires an audience of immense size. That leaves getting an audience which is ultimately very difficult, time consuming, and/or expensive.

For either you have to go around promoting your content on other social mediums which can backfire if you are too aggressive or buying ads, both of these may or may not turn out that many readers considering how low the percentage of views will actually result in someone taking a moment out of their life to click through to another website. Just look up the metrics for how many click-throughs outbound links posted to Facebook actually get.

So, in the meantime one addict of comics featuring cats to what I assume is another, I would advise checking out http://www.whubble.net (another comic which has been dormant for well over two years) or http://www.lackadaisycats.com/

Segueing (“seg-way-ing”) off of that I am going to take this time to shamelessly dump links to a bunch of my favorite web comics that I don’t think will be inappropriate for someone in your age group and may or may not really relate to Commander Kitty. http://www.gpf-comics.com/ , samandfuzzy.com , bearnutscomic.com , funnyfarmcomics.com , newshounds.com , breakpointcity.com , ozyandmillie.org and so many more that you can find linked from them as they do tend to share links. In fact, there are more links to other comics in the side bar to the left of this very web comic.

Just don’t forget to do your homework or get to bed on time, I did that for a few months when I was your age and just beginning to delve into the ever expanding black hole of time that is the world wide web way back in about 1997 resulting in my grades tanking and my dad realizing that I was spending whole nights connected over the phone lines only to nod off in the middle of class and proceeded to confiscate my precious Global Village external serial 56Kbps modem. Later he gave it back having changed the password for the dial-up internet and wouldn’t log me in unless I’d had my homework done. I of course immediately installed a hidden key-logger on my computer and lifted the password as I was having none of that. By then I had figured out how to better manage my time and just did not care to wait for my parents to trust me to do that.

Anyway, I highly recommend saving a bookmark in a sub folder of your bookmarks named “halted comics” of whatever and just using load-all-in-tabs to check comics like this one every few months just to see if they get back going again. It happens sometimes, but I find that once it’s been more than a year, it’s very unlikely to take off again.

This is officially the longest hiatus for a webcomic I still cling on hope of it returning some day.

I don’t really check in much here anymore, but I do check occasionally and I have email notifications on comments turned on.

I’ve got a folder full of stuck in time webcomic links in my bookmarks that I’ll sometimes pull up in multiple tabs when I’m bored though.. usually only check it once every few months.
